Diabetes Education – Take Control Today!
Valley Health has Certified Diabetes Educators (CDEs) on staff to help you take control of your diabetes. CDEs are health professionals who have demonstrated their knowledge and skill in diabetes self-management education by providing at least 1,000 hours of patient education, passing a rigorous exam and maintaining this highly respected credential in the healthcare industry.
Successful diabetes self-management involves knowledge about a broad range of topics such as healthy eating, how to take medication as directed, fitting in exercise and coping with stress. It’s not easy to gain all of the necessary knowledge by yourself. With the help of a CDE, you can learn how to effectively manage and improve your health by developing a plan. Ask for a referral from your provider today. This service is offered at a number of locations. Please talk to your local Valley Health site for availability.
Our CDEs are Kimberly Neely, RN, MSN, Megan Peterson, RPh, Clinical Pharmacist, and Penny Skidmore, RN, BSN.
Most insurances cover the cost of meeting with a CDE. If you are not sure, contact your insurance company directly.
