Valley Health – Food Fair welcomes nurse practitioner Sarah Shannon


 

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Valley Health welcomes family nurse practitioner Sarah Shannon to its QuickCare provider team at Food Fair, 6350 U.S. Route 60, Barboursville, W.Va.

Valley Health’s QuickCare location at Foodfair is open for walk-in services for patients experiencing minor illnesses Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The types of conditions that can be evaluated and treated at a Valley Health QuickCare location include sore throats, ear infections, urinary tract infections, mild asthma, rashes without fever, minor burns, minor cuts that require stitches, nausea, dizziness and other conditions that are not life-or-limb-threatening, but that require immediate care.

Shannon earned an Associate Degree in Nursing in 2010 from Ohio University, completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2011 from O.U., and achieved a Master of Science in Nursing in the Family Nurse Practitioner tract, in 2014.

Shannon began her nursing career in 2010 at the King’s Daughters Urgent Care clinic in Ashland, Ky., and worked as an R.N. in the King’s Daughters Emergency Department from 2011 through 2014. Shannon worked the entire time she simultaneously completed higher-level nursing degrees.
