Friday, September 22, 2017
CEDAR GROVE, W.Va. – Saturday, September 30, everyone is invited to stop by Valley Health – Upper Kanawha in Cedar Grove for a free Community Health Fair from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Activities include blood pressure checks, flu shots, door prizes, live music and a hot dog sale. All insurances are accepted for flu shots including Medicaid and Medicare. The local fire department will also be there to talk about fire safety and give children the opportunity to see a fire truck firsthand. Education will be provided about black lung, pulmonary rehab, stress management, nutrition, dental care, hand washing, poison prevention, tobacco use cessation and WIC services.
“Quality health care requires a team approach between a community health center and its patients. The health fair allows us to not only connect with our neighbors, but to educate the community on health issues, provide an outlet for local talent and resources and have some fun too!” Dr. Jenifer Hadley, family physician at Valley Health, explained.
The fair will take place at Valley Health – Upper Kanawha located at 408 Alexander Street in Cedar Grove.
Valley Health – Upper Kanawha offers family medicine, a black lung program, dentistry and WIC services. On-site providers include Dr. Jenifer Hadley, family physician, Dr. Stephen Minor, dentist, and Bridgette Freeman, family nurse practitioner. They are currently accepting new patients and accept most insurances. For low-income patients with no insurance, a sliding fee discount is available.
