
Valley Health Systems, Inc. is thrilled to announce that Rachel Lively, our Executive Vice President / Chief Operating Officer, has been honored in the renowned WV State Journal Generation Next 40 Under 40 list for 2025. This prestigious recognition celebrates young leaders who exhibit remarkable achievements and contributions within their communities and professional fields across West Virginia.
Rachel began her journey at Valley Health in 2016 as the Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program coordinator. Her exceptional leadership and dedication to improving behavioral health operations paved the way for her rapid advancement within the organization. After serving in various roles, including administrative oversight of Behavioral Health Operations and later in Dental, Rachel took on the role of Chief of Staff in 2020. By 2024, she advanced to her current position as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

With a strong academic background, Rachel holds a Masters in Healthcare Administration from Marshall University and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Oregon State University. Her educational foundation, combined with her professional expertise, has enabled her to lead with vision and integrity, continually striving to enhance healthcare delivery across the region.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Rachel enjoys spending time on her farm with her husband, where they raise animals. She also values physical fitness, engaging in Powerlifting with her husband, Andrew.
