Valley Health Recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance for Commitment to Providing Quality Healthcare

[Huntington, WV, October 11, 2023] — Valley Health Systems, Inc. is proud to announce that 15 of its community health centers have been recognized by NCQA (National Committee for Quality Assurance) as Patient-Centered Medical Homes (PCMHs) for their commitment to providing high-quality healthcare services. This recognition is a testament to Valley Health’s dedication to improving the health and well-being of its patients. Locations receiving recognition include 10th Street, Coal Grove, East Huntington, Fort Gay, Harts, Huntington, Hurricane, Milton, Point Pleasant Pediatrics, Southside, Stepptown, Teays Valley, Upper Kanawha, Wayne, and Westmoreland. 

In addition to the overall recognition, 13 health centers have been recognized with distinction in behavioral health integration. This recognition highlights the organization’s commitment to providing comprehensive care that addresses physical and mental health needs.

“We are honored to receive this recognition from NCQA,” said Mathew Weimer, MD, Vice President of Health Services/Chief Medical Officer of Valley Health Systems, Inc. “To receive this recognition, practices must meet or exceed 40 core criteria in 6 concept areas and at least 25 credits of elective standards in a minimum of 5 concept areas; activities include, but are not limited to, care coordination for transitions into and out of the hospital, a team-based approach to care, and timely access to care at the practice.”
