Valley Health Systems, Inc. is proud to announce that Dr. Mathew Weimer, President and Chief Executive Officer of Valley Health Systems, has been appointed Chair of the Clinical Practice Committee for the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC). Dr. Weimer’s leadership term will run from January 2026 through December 2027.
Dr. Weimer previously served as Co–Vice Chair of the Clinical Practice Committee for the past two years and now steps into the Chair role. His appointment reflects a strong record of leadership and a demonstrated commitment to advancing community health centers and improving outcomes for the patients and communities they serve. As Chair, Dr. Weimer will help lead a national committee focused on strengthening clinical excellence across the country’s community health centers.
Originally founded in 1965 to serve high-need rural and urban communities, community health centers have grown over the past 60 years to become the nation’s largest primary care system. Today, health center patients are significantly more likely to experience chronic and complex health conditions, making innovation, quality improvement, and workforce leadership more critical than ever.
“This role is both an honor and a responsibility,” said Dr. Weimer. “Community health centers care for some of the most complex patient populations in the country, and yet they consistently exceed quality benchmarks. I’m excited to work alongside national clinical leaders to strengthen innovation, support the workforce, and ensure health centers remain providers of choice for the communities we serve.”
