Valley Health Systems, Inc. is excited to announce a new collaboration with the Cabell-Huntington Health Department, Valley Health – 7th Avenue — to expand access to primary and preventive healthcare services for local residents.
Valley Health – 7th Avenue will be located inside the Cabell- Huntington Health Department located at 703 7th Avenue in Huntington. Patient appointments will begin June 22. Prior to opening those with questions can call Valley Health’s 10th Street location at (304)399.3366. Beginning June 22, patients may contact Valley Health – 7th Avenue office directly at (304) 526.3387.
Through this partnership, a Valley Health provider will be on site three days a week, Monday, Thursday, and Friday 8am to 4pm. Valley Health – 7th Avenue will offer primary care, sick visits, and specialized services focused on Hepatitis C, HIV, and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). The arrangement utilizes leased Cabell County Health Department staff, allowing the clinic to operate efficiently and at a low cost to patients — further advancing Valley Health’s mission of accessible, affordable, and high-quality care for all.
“This partnership reflects the kind of innovative, community-based collaboration that strengthens the overall healthcare system,” said Mathew Weimer, M.D., President and Chief Executive Officer of Valley Health Systems, Inc. “By combining resources and expertise, we’re ensuring that more people have access to the care they need, when and where they need it. It’s an example of what’s possible when organizations work together for the good of the community.”
“Valley Health’s mission has always been centered around accessibility and partnership,” added Brett Wellman, Chief Community Health Officer at Valley Health Systems, Inc. “By working alongside the Cabell-Huntington Health Department, we’re able to bring much-needed medical services directly to the people who need them most. This collaboration creates a convenient option for care and represents a model we hope to replicate with other health departments across our region.”
The partnership aims to close gaps in care by combining Valley Health’s clinical expertise with the Cabell-Huntington Health Department’s established community outreach and public health resources. The result is a streamlined, patient-centered approach that addresses both prevention and treatment in one location.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Valley Health in this effort to improve access to care in Cabell County,” said Michael Kilkenny, M.D., M.S., CEO and Health Officer of Cabell-Huntington Health Department. “Our shared goal is to provide high-quality, affordable services to those who may otherwise go without care. Together, we’re enhancing public health by connecting people to the clinical and preventive services they need most.”
This partnership serves as a pilot model for future collaborations between Valley Health and other health departments throughout the region — a proactive step toward improving community health outcomes and ensuring that care remains local, affordable, and inclusive.
