Valley Health is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Daniel Snavely, M.D. as Cardiology Section Chief at the new Valley Health Heart & Vascular Center, located at 4270 US Route 60 East, Huntington, WV. A respected interventional cardiologist and academic leader, Dr. Snavely brings more than two decades of experience in clinical cardiology, education, and cardiovascular innovation to his new role.
Dr. Snavely previously served as a staff physician and cardiologist at St. Mary’s Huntington Internal Medicine Group (HIMG), and as Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Cincinnati, where he also held dual leadership roles as Co-Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab and Director of Endovascular Intervention. His career has been defined by a commitment to clinical excellence, collaborative care, and advancing interventional therapies for cardiovascular disease.
Dr. Snavely earned his medical degree from the West Virginia University School of Medicine, completed his residency at Charleston Area Medical Center, and his fellowship in cardiology at the University of Cincinnati. He is board-certified in both cardiology and interventional cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and is licensed to practice in West Virginia, Ohio, and Kentucky.
A published contributor to nearly a dozen cardiology research studies, Dr. Snavely holds special academic interests in renal artery stenosis intervention and the development and application of coronary stents.

Dr. Snavely currently resides in Hurricane, West Virginia, and enjoys staying active with basketball, golf, racquetball, and tennis, as well as staying informed on current events.
