Valley Health Celebrates Expansion of Pea Ridge Medical Complex with Community Open House

Valley Health Systems, Inc. celebrated a major milestone Wednesday, May 20, welcoming more than 100 guests to a community open house at the expanded Pea Ridge Medical Complex, showcasing a transformative project that reflects the organization’s ongoing commitment to coordinated, high-quality healthcare across the region.

Located at 4270 U.S. Route 60 in Huntington, the Pea Ridge Medical Complex is now home to approximately 90,000 square feet of healthcare services and administrative operations. The complex is open 45 hours each week to serve patients across the Tri-State area and employs more than 200 people.

Originally home to administrative offices, marketing and billing departments, and OB/GYN services, Valley Health began planning for a major expansion of the Pea Ridge campus in 2024. Twenty months later, the vision has become reality with the addition of more than 40,000 square feet of new space.

The expansion allows patients to access a broad range of coordinated healthcare services in one centralized location. Services now available at the Pea Ridge Medical Complex include Valley Health’s Center for Senior Wellness, Family Medicine services, the Valley Health Heart & Vascular Center, Behavioral Health, laboratory services, imaging services, OB/GYN care, Valley Health Sports Medicine, and pediatric cardiology services through WVU Medicine Children’s.

The campus also includes healthcare partners Huntington Physical Therapy, Marshall Orthopaedics, and by the end of the year, Tri-State LifeCare. Construction is currently underway on the future Tri-State LifeCare Adult Day Center. The center is expected to open later in 2026.

“This expansion represents so much more than additional space,” said Dr. Mathew Weimer, President & CEO of Valley Health Systems. “Patients can access a continuum of care in one place, with teams collaborating seamlessly using the best technology available to improve health outcomes and quality of life. Today was a celebration of this incredible new space, but also a celebration of our commitment to comprehensive, coordinated, and high-quality care across the region.  We are thrilled to be able to show off this project and the culmination of a dream and months of work that bring our patients the very best care and facilities,” said Dr. Weimer.

Valley Health leaders say the expanded campus reflects the organization’s long-term investment in meeting the healthcare needs of the Tri-State region while improving patient experience through collaboration, innovation, and convenient access to care.
