Valley Health Hurricane hosts Bonnie Bus — bringing Health Screenings and Special Treats

20 patients received mammograms at Valley Health Hurricane as Bonnie Bus made a visit Tuesday April 29th.  The event was further enhanced by a partnership with Aetna Better Health during the Well Woman Event, making health screenings more accessible. Each patient was presented with a beautiful rose to celebrate their commitment to health and wellness.

Aetna Better Health contributed to the festivities by scheduling patients with Erin Nethercutt for their Annual exams. These participants received a treat bag along with a $25 gift card as a token of appreciation for taking charge of their health.  One patient scheduled for both an Annual exam and a screening mammogram and will receive $125 in gift cards from Aetna for completing both cancer screening exams.

Bonnie’s Bus is a state-of-the-art, 45-foot mobile mammography vehicle is dedicated to increasing access to breast cancer screening in West Virginia, particularly in rural areas.  Bonnie’s Bus is made possible through a generous donation from West Virginia natives Jo and Ben Statler to the Cancer Institute and is named in honor of Jo Statler’s late mother, Bonnie Wells Wilson.

Bonnie’s Bus is set to return to Valley Health for its next stop on June 10 at Valley Health Pea Ridge. Interested participants are encouraged to call 304.781.5001 to schedule their screening appointments. Valley Health remains steadfast in its pursuit of promoting wellness and offering supportive resources to women, ensuring that healthcare is not only accessible but also a positive experience.
