Valley Health Physician Shea Goodrich Honored with WVSOM Primary Care Outstanding Preceptor Award

Valley Health Systems, Inc. is pleased to announce that Dr. Shea Goodrich has been awarded the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (WVSOM) Primary Care Outstanding Preceptor Award for the Southwestern Region.

The West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (WVSOM) presents the award to physicians who demonstrate professionalism, service to students, and a positive role model for patient care.   The Outstanding Preceptor Award is given each year to one primary care physician and one non-primary care specialist from each statewide campus region.

“I am truly honored to receive this recognition from WVSOM,” said Dr. Goodrich. “Teaching future physicians is one of the most rewarding aspects of my career. Working alongside students as they develop their clinical skills and compassion for patients inspires me every day. It’s a privilege to play a small role in their journey toward becoming excellent, patient-centered doctors.”

Dr. Goodrich has been part of the Valley Health Systems team since 2014, providing comprehensive pediatric care to children from birth through young adulthood.   Dr. Goodrich earned her medical degree from the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine at Marshall University, where she also completed her residency in pediatrics, serving as Chief Resident from 2013–2014. She is board certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a member of both the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr. Mathew Weimer, President and CEO of Valley Health Systems, praised Dr. Goodrich for her leadership and dedication,  “Dr. Goodrich exemplifies the mission and values of Valley Health. Her commitment to both patient care and medical education strengthens our entire healthcare community. We are proud to see her receive this well-deserved recognition from WVSOM.”

Outside of her medical practice, Dr. Goodrich enjoys traveling and dancing. She also shares her love of the arts by teaching tap dance at Bridget’s Dance Academy in Huntington, West Virginia.  Valley Health congratulates Dr. Shea Goodrich on this well-earned recognition and thanks her for her continued dedication to her patients, students, and community.
