Valley Health Welcomes Bria McKee, APRN, FNP-C, to Family Medicine Department

Valley Health Systems, Inc. is pleased to welcome Bria McKee, APRN, FNP-C, to the Valley Health Family Medicine Department beginning May 18, 2026.

McKee brings more than 15 years of nursing and advanced practice experience with specialized expertise in family medicine, diabetes care, endocrinology, metabolic disorders, and weight management. As part of the Valley Health Family Medicine team, she will provide comprehensive care for adults ages 18 and older, with a special emphasis on Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes management, insulin pump therapy, and continuous glucose monitoring.

McKee earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from West Virginia University, and an Associate of Science in Nursing from St. Mary’s School of Nursing, which is accredited by Marshall University.

“Bria’s strong background in chronic disease management and patient education make her an outstanding addition to our Family Medicine Department,” said Dr. Ben Allan, Valley Health Family Medicine Section Chief. “Her expertise in diabetes technology, metabolic health, and endocrine disorders will allow patients to receive specialized, high-quality care close to home while continuing to benefit from the comprehensive approach of family medicine.”

McKee specializes in caring for adults with a wide range of endocrine and metabolic disorders, including:

Prior to joining Valley Health, McKee worked in endocrinology, metabolism, and medical weight loss for Huntington Internal Medicine Group, where she managed complex endocrine cases and developed diabetes education group visits focused on prevention, education, and long-term management. She also previously represented Abbott Laboratories promoting Freestyle Libre diabetes technology and served as a clinical speaker for Novo Nordisk and Boehringer Ingelheim on diabetes and metabolic therapies.

McKee lives in Flatwoods, Kentucky, with her husband and two children. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, exercising, and spending time with her family.
