
Valley Health Systems, Inc. is pleased to welcome Heather Mayville, CNM, APRN to the OB/GYN team beginning February 2, 2026. She will provide comprehensive women’s health and midwifery services at Valley Health Fort Gay and Valley Health A Woman’s Place.
Heather is a highly experienced Certified Nurse Midwife and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with more than a decade of midwifery experience and a strong background in labor and delivery care. She has been dedicated to women and family health since 2004, providing compassionate, evidence-based care throughout the lifespan, from adolescence through post-menopause.
She earned her Master of Science in Nursing with certification in Nurse Midwifery from Frontier Nursing University in 2013 and began her healthcare career after completing her Associate in Nursing from St. Mary’s School of Nursing/Marshall University in 2004. She has served as a Certified Nurse Midwife since 2014 with St. Mary’s Women and Family Care and was previously a Registered Nurse on Labor & Delivery for nearly 10 years. Her excellence in patient care earned her the Nurse Practitioner of the Year Award in both 2017 and 2019.
Heather is certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board, is an active member of the American College of Nurse Midwives, and maintains a BLS certification. Her clinical skills include:
• Prenatal and post-natal care
• Intrapartum care and vaginal deliveries
• Perineal repair (1st and 2nd degree)
• Family planning
• Gynecologic care from adolescence through post-menopause
• Basic infertility care
• IUD placement and removal
• Nexplanon placement and removal
• IUI procedures

Heather lives in Huntington with her husband and son. In her free time she enjoys watching and going to sporting events including basketball, football and baseball game. A Duke Blue Devils win gives her great joy. She also has a love for all animals and loves to travel with family and friends.
Valley Health continues to expand women’s health and obstetric services across the region. With the addition of Mayville, patients at Valley Health Fort Gay and Valley Health A Woman’s Place will have increased access to high-quality prenatal care, gynecologic services, and midwifery support close to home.
