Valley Health Welcomes Dr. Cynthia Pinson to Lead New Senior Care Service Line

Valley Health Systems, Inc. is proud to announce the addition of Cynthia Pinson, M.D., FAAFP, CMD, as Section Chief of Senior Care, launching a new senior care service line at the Valley Health Center for Senior Wellness, located at 4270 US Route 60 in Huntington, WV. This program will provide specialized care and support for older adults and their families across the Tri-State area. Dr. Pinson will lead the development of Valley Health’s new Senior Care service line, expanding access to specialized care for older adults throughout the Tri-State area.

Dr. Pinson brings more than 25 years of experience in senior care, palliative care, and family medicine. A Huntington native and graduate of Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, she has devoted her career to advancing the health and quality of life of older adults.

Most recently, Dr. Pinson served as a physician in Palliative Care, Geriatric and Extended Care at the Hershel “Woody” Williams VA Medical Center. She previously held leadership roles as Medical Director for Cabell Huntington Hospital Home Care Medicine, Medical Director for multiple skilled nursing and assisted living facilities, and Founder and CEO of Pinson Mobile Medicine, Inc. (Travel MD), an innovative house-call practice serving patients across the Tri-State region. She also served as an Assistant Professor at Marshall University’s School of Medicine and has mentored countless medical students, residents, and fellows in geriatrics.

Recognized for her clinical excellence and compassionate approach, Dr. Pinson is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, a Certified Medical Director with the American Medical Directors Association, and an Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society inductee. She has received numerous awards, including the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Clinical Care and the House Call Doctor of the Year Award by the American Academy of Homecare Physicians.

As Section Chief of Senior Care, Dr. Pinson will oversee the creation of Valley Health’s senior care programs, expanding clinical services, supporting families and caregivers, and coordinating with community partners to improve outcomes for aging patients.
