Valley Health is proud to announce the addition of interventional cardiologist Dr. Daniel Vilchez, MD to the newly opened Valley Health Heart & Vascular Center, located at 4270 US Route 60 East, Huntington, WV. Dr. Vilchez brings with him extensive clinical expertise and a distinguished academic background that will play a vital role in expanding access to high-quality cardiovascular care across the region.
Dr. Vilchez most recently served as the Interventional Cardiology Attending Physician at Cornerstone Specialty Hospital under Kindred Healthcare and also held the position of Medical Director for Cardiac Rehabilitation at St. Mary’s Medical Center. His dedication to advancing cardiovascular medicine is reflected in his clinical work, leadership, and research.
Dr. Vilchez earned his medical degree from the Universidad del Zulia School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at Illinois Masonic Medical Center and his cardiology fellowship at Marshall University, where he was honored as Fellow of the Year for three consecutive years. He has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications focused on advancing the treatment of cardiovascular disease.
Dr. Vilchez is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Cardiovascular Disease, and the American Board of Interventional Cardiology. He also holds certifications from the National Board of Echocardiography and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, and is board certified in vascular imaging interpretation.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Vilchez resides in Proctorville, Ohio, and is committed to delivering compassionate, personalized care to patients throughout the Tri-State area.
