Valley Health Welcomes Dr. Joshua Jewell to Family Medicine Team at Pea Ridge Medical Center

Valley Health Systems, Inc. is pleased to welcome Joshua Jewell, DO, to its team of primary care providers at Valley Health Pea Ridge Medical Center, where he will serve patients as a Family Medicine physician beginning March 2, 2026.

Dr. Jewell brings extensive experience in community-based primary care and a patient-centered approach focused on education, shared decision-making, and long-term relationships with patients and families. He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and most recently practiced as a full-time attending physician with University of Colorado Health (UCHealth) Primary Care before returning to serve the Tri-State region.

Originally from West Virginia, Dr. Jewell earned his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Marshall University and his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his family medicine residency with Peak Vista Community Health Centers in Colorado, where he later served as an attending physician caring for diverse and often underserved patient populations.

Dr. Jewell describes his role in medicine first and foremost as that of a consultant and educator. “I consider myself a consultant, above all else,” said Dr. Jewell. “What patients want more than anything is to understand what they’re facing, what their options are, and what the likely outcomes of each choice may be. My goal is to help patients see the whole picture, reduce complex problems into actionable choices, and support them in making informed decisions about their care.”

“Dr. Jewell brings strong clinical training, broad experience, and a thoughtful approach to primary care,” said Scott Davis, MD, Family and Internal Medicine Section Chief at Valley Health. “He understands the importance of listening to patients, educating them, and partnering with them in their care. We are excited to welcome him to our team.”

Outside of the office, Dr. Jewell enjoys spending time with his family, lifting weights, reading science fiction and fantasy, tabletop roleplaying games, painting models and miniatures, and relaxing with a good cup of coffee. A self-described dog lover, his perfect Saturday includes family breakfast, time outdoors with his children, an afternoon workout, and a quiet evening with family.

Dr. Jewell will see patients at Valley Health Pea Ridge Medical Center, expanding access to comprehensive primary care for individuals and families across the region.

Appointments with Dr. Joshua Jewell are now being scheduled.
