
[Wayne, WV – September 9, 2025] – Valley Health partnered with the WVU Cancer Institute’s Lung Cancer Screening Mobile Unit, LUCAS, to provide life-saving lung screenings to 13 patients, reinforcing its commitment to early detection and community health. LUCAS made a vital stop at Valley Health Wayne (42 McGinnis Drive, Wayne, WV) on September 9, 2025.
LUCAS, the state-of-the-art mobile screening unit, delivers advanced lung cancer screening services directly to communities across West Virginia. Thanks to grant funding and generous donations, uninsured West Virginia residents aged 50 and older who meet lung cancer screening eligibility requirements can receive screenings on LUCAS at no cost.

The LUCAS Lung Bus makes its next Valley Health stop at Valley Health Hurricane on September 16, 2025, and will visit Valley Health Upper Kanawha on October 22, 2025.
