Valley Health Systems and our community partners provide essential services and compassionate care for Huntington’s unhoused population.
What is The HUB?
The HUB is a collaborative initiative between Valley Health Systems, the City of Huntington, and key community partners. Together, we provide comprehensive services to individuals experiencing homelessness in Huntington, WV.
As the region’s only overnight low-barrier shelter, located at 96 3rd Avenue West, Huntington, WV 25701, the HUB offers a safe environment and coordinated support for high-risk, vulnerable individuals in need.
Hours of Operation
The Hub is open seven days a week, from 6 PM to 6 AM.
Opening Phase – Starting November 1, 2025
The Hub will provide:
- Overnight shelter for up to 80 guests per night.
- Access to restrooms, showers and coordinated meals.
- Trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and de-escalation support from trained staff.
Phase Two – Expanding in 2026
Future services will include:
- On-site medical care, health screenings, and behavioral health support
- Substance use disorder treatment and personalized case management
- Transitional housing and transportation assistance

Our Approach to Care
The HUB is designed to meet the unique needs of Huntington’s homeless population through accessible, low-barrier care and connection to critical resources.
We focus on:
- Meeting basic needs like food, shelter, and hygiene
- Delivering trauma-informed, compassionate care
- Coordinating medical, behavioral health, and social services in one location
- Connecting guests with long-term stability resources, including housing, employment, and recovery support
By addressing both immediate and long-term needs, the HUB helps individuals move from crisis to stability.
