Dr. Amber Kuhl Marks 1,000 Robotic Surgeries Milestone

Huntington, West Virginia [August 29, 2023] – Valley Health celebrates Dr. Amber Kuhl, a renowned Obstetrician Gynecologist, completing her 1,000th robotic surgery.

Dr. Kuhl’s expertise and dedication to her patients made this milestone possible. She has been at the forefront of robotic surgery, using the latest technology to provide her patients with the best possible care, and her commitment to excellence has earned her a reputation as one of the best OBGYNs in the country. Her patients have benefited from her expertise and use of the latest technology, enabling her to perform surgeries with greater precision, less pain, and faster recovery times.

Dr. Kuhl commented on the milestone, saying, “I, along with my talented partners, am so happy to be able to offer robotic surgery to our patients. With robotic surgery, pain is typically less, recovery is typically easier, and complications and bleeding are consistently lower. Hysterectomy patients are frequently able to go home the same day as surgery. Even with 1000 cases, I will continue to work with our Valley Health staff to broaden access and availability to patients who would benefit from robotic procedures.”

Dr. Mathew Weimer, Valley Health’s Vice President of Health Services and Chief Medical Officer, expressed his appreciation of Dr. Kuhl’s work.  “When Dr. Kuhl joined Valley Health in January 2022, she brought many years of surgical experience and a large and loyal group of patients with her. Her skills in the labor and delivery suite, operating room, and exam room–as well as in her day-to-day interactions with patients, colleagues, and staff—are superb. Our organization, patients, and the communities we serve are fortunate to have access to the high-quality, compassionate care that Dr. Kuhl provides. Valley Health is proud to offer cutting-edge procedures for our patients, including those served in our Obstetrics & Gynecology and Women’s Health programs,” said Dr. Weimer.

Dr. Kuhl reached the 1,000 surgery mark in July 2023. She is grateful to her patients for trusting her with their care, and she looks forward to continuing to provide the highest level of care to all those who seek her expertise. She is committed to staying at the forefront of her field and will continue to use the latest technology and techniques to ensure that her patients receive the best possible care.
