Valley Health Southside and Cabell County WIC Unite to Bring Joy to More than 50 Local Children and Families

{December 15, 2023} in Huntington, WV – Valley Health Cabell WIC and Valley Health Southside orchestrated a heartwarming holiday extravaganza on December 15, 2023, bringing together 53 children and their families for a Breakfast with Santa celebration at Chili’s Restaurant in Barboursville, WV.

Children met Santa Claus at the event while enjoying a breakfast of sausage, eggs, pancakes, and refreshing beverages.   Each child received a specially chosen toy valued at $25, a filled stocking, and cozy pajamas. Families were treated to a bundle of holiday goodies, including a Christmas book, an ornament decoration kit, a recipe in a bag (complete with food items), and a snuggly blanket. .  Attendees also participated in door prize drawings.   The collective effort of Valley Health Cabell WIC and Valley Health Southside created a truly magical and joyous start to the holiday season for these local families.

President and CEO Steve Shattls expressed his gratitude to the Valley Health teams for their dedication to community outreach saying, “Our devotion to serving the community goes beyond the confines of our facilities. We take immense pride in the dedication and compassion exhibited by each staff member. This event is a testament to the heartwarming impact we can make when we unite to support and celebrate the well-being of our neighbors.”

Shattls extended sincere appreciation to the local community for their overwhelming support. “Our event was a tremendous success, and we owe it all to the kindness and generosity of people like you,” he expressed. Special thanks were extended to Chili’s Restaurant for graciously providing venue and meals for the attending families. Recognition was also extended to The Colour Bar, Old Navy, St. Mary’s Urgent Care, various local stores, restaurants, churches, and Valley Health employees who generously contributed to the cause. Shattls remarked, “Seeing such a strong sense of community and compassion is heartwarming, and your support truly humbles us.”
