Valley Health Welcomes New Psychiatrist Dr. Mark Peterson

Huntington, West Virginia [August 8, 2023] – Valley Health Systems, Inc. is pleased to announce new provider, Dr. Mark Peterson, MD., is providing psychiatry services to Valley Health patients beginning July 13, 2023 at Valley Health – Teays Pediatrics and Valley Health – Hurricane.

Dr. Peterson is a graduate of Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine and has completed a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship.    He has worked in the Huntington area since 2017 and has memberships with American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. 

“I’m thrilled to start practicing psychiatry at Valley Health. I think Valley Health understands the importance of a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to provide the best psychiatric care possible. I think that good psychiatric care can have a positive impact on entire families, and this impact can be felt across generations,” Dr. Peterson said in regards to joining Valley Health.

Dr. Peterson resides in Hurricane with his wife and three daughters.  He enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, and kayaking in his free time.
